For the gilding of the Temple was used more than 50 kg of gold bullions. This gold was specially transformed by gilding masters to superfine plates and after that was placed by special instrument on the walls, ceilings, arcs, polished and covered by protective lacquer.

Golden color had emblematic meaning in world imperial tradition. This color used as imperial in symbolism of the Holy Roman Empire. Golden color is one of the characteristic signs of Russian military culture. Golden color of imperial standard became the color of imperial army from the first half of XIX.
