Reconstruction of forged wicket

A decision was taken to enclose museum building by brick fence with open-work wickets and decorative grilles. As materials were used forged metal and hewn figured high quality brick specially delivered from Sergiev Posad. That brick of high durability was burnt by old technology and was easily processed during the preparation of figured elements of the fence. Territory around the museum was paved by paving stone.

Part of works of fence construction was made by Moscow bricklayer and restorer Dmitry Gorneychuk.

Two cast-iron forged wickets and big gates found a second life after the restoration in the forge. Heavily deformed and rusted they were taken off a house in Pougachevskaya street and restored in Moscow by specialists of the center of monumental and decorative art.
