Temple in Ochakovo was built in 1761 in honor of Dmitry Rostovsky. That was parish temple of Ochakovo village. In 1920th it has been closed. In the temple were placed storehouse, then restoration workshop. To the end of the Soviet period the temple was brought to the terrible condition, in fact already it has not roof, and as a result of vandalism almost all painting were annihilated. Since 1992 Dimitry Ivanov became the senior priest of the temple and since that moment the restoration of the temple began. In 1996 iconostasis was restored. Iconostasis construction and wooden base were made by carver Oleg Chaly.
Near the temple was built parson's house. In the same house the Sunday school is situated.
Temple interiors are decorated with things made in the temporary forge situated near the temple. In the forge were made grilles, fences and instruments according to ancient drawings and patterns: axes, drawing-knives, chisels. All carpenter's work was made exactly by that instrument. Exterior part of Ochakovsky temple was finished in 1995.
Icons for the altar part of the temple were painted by icon painter Vladimir Kuteyko.
Painting of construction part of fretted iconostasis was made by Gennady Tarasov and Vladimir Boytsov in 1996-1997.
